The Essential Basics of Backgammon Game Plans – Part One
Sunday, 19. March 2023
The aim of a Backgammon match is to shift your checkers around the game board and pull them off the game board faster than your challenger who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a game of Backgammon requires both strategy and good luck. Just how far you will be able to move your checkers is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and how you shift your chips are determined by your overall playing strategies. Enthusiasts use a number of strategies in the differing stages of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Strategy
The goal of the Running Game technique is to bring all your checkers into your home board and get them off as quickly as you could. This technique focuses on the speed of shifting your pieces with absolutely no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s chips. The best time to use this strategy is when you believe you can shift your own chips a lot faster than the opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the board; 2) all your chips have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) your opponent doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking tactic.
The Blocking Game Technique
The main aim of the blocking tactic, by its name, is to block the competitor’s chips, temporarily, not fretting about shifting your checkers quickly. Once you’ve established the barrier for the opponent’s movement with a few pieces, you can move your other checkers quickly off the game board. The player should also have a good strategy when to extract and shift the chips that you used for the blockade. The game becomes interesting when your competitor utilizes the same blocking tactic.
